The Second Vatican Council's Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy (n.112) speaks of the "ministerial" rather than incidental function of music. In line with this, the Catholic Church of Our Lady of the Rosary highlights the importance of singing common liturgical hymns during the celebration of the Holy Mass to encourage the faithful to participate in the singing of hymns and responses. The role of the music ministry is to encourage the congregation to sing and to avoid giving a performance during the mass. Everyone needs to participate and sing if the Mass is going to be what it's supposed to be. "The primary music ensemble at every liturgy is the assembly."
The parish is blessed with many volunteer musicians who oversee the music that is so integral to parish liturgies, especially Sunday (Friday) Masses. The parish is also blessed to have many good and spirit-filled choirs serving in the Holy Mass. A hymn book entitled Desert Waves is used in the parish.
